About Etta Kostick:

I am compelled by glass its many different forms and applications. I grew up in the woods and by the seashore in Massachusetts, in a family of glassblowers, which largely shaped the way I see glass and the manipulation of it. Over time, however, I found myself pushing to create a style of jewelry and art all my own. After moving to Chicago I started experimenting with stained glass. I was fascinated with the colors, textures, and similarities between hot solder and glass, and the ways it can be manipulated.  My father and I developed a method for glass fusing, which allows me to create patterned glass, furthering the originality of my art. Through unique combinations of stained glass, solder, and self-designed fused glass, I strive to create wearable, statement-making art pieces.
